“Good budget choice”
The Ai Tolentini is a nice little hotel and one of the only places where you can pay less than 100e a night and stay on the island of Venice (highly recommended; it’s beautiful after the day-trippers leave!). With an early-morning train, we needed a place with 24-hour reception and close proximity to the station, and Ai Tolentini was perfect for those needs. I’ve heard there are actually two buildings to the hotel, so room quality may vary based on which building you’re in. We were in the building where the reception is located, and our bathroom was pretty old-school, but everything was quite clean. The room was furnished in an Ikea style – nothing fancy, but all new and nice. Although the hotel is on a fairly busy pedestrian path, the noise was never a problem to us. Staff was absolutely great — very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. A note on reservations: Ai Tolentini is on a couple of hostel-booking sites, but the rates are lower if you book directly on the hotel’s user-friendly web site.
