Location
The Hotel Ai Tolentini, among the finest one star hotels in Venice, is located in a characteristic area of the city on the lagoon: on Calle Amai in the Santa Croce neighborhood, from which you can easily reach numerous tourist attractions. But the mandatory stroll for anyone who stays in a hotel in Venice in the Tolentini area is definitely the Scuola Grande of S.Rocco, just a one minute walk away. Founded in 1478, it is dedicated to San Rocco, the protector of the victims of the plague. One area, there are three buildings: the church, the Scuola Grande, and the Scoletta. In 1564 Tintoretto was asked to decorate some of the walls and ceilings of the main building. The renowned Venetian painter created a cycle of works that made him famous all over the world, which can easily be seen today starting out from the Hotel Ai Tolentini Venezia.
The hotel isn’t convenient solely because of the artistic and cultural attractions; in only a few minutes you can arrive in Campo Santa Margherita, the favorite entertainment area and meeting place of young Venetians, where you can stop for a pleasant break with a drink, seated in one of the numerous bars in the area, with open air seating.
In addition, the hotel is very near to IUAV, the Venetian Architectural School. The hotel is therefore also excellent for students that are searching for a practical and economical place to stay.
For visiting the city along its characteristic canals or to get to the islands, we recommend taking the vaporetto: the nearest departure points you can reach on foot are Piazzale Roma (1 minute), S.Lucia Station (5 minutes) and S.Tomà (8 minutes).
By train
From the Santa Lucia Station, cross over the Ponte degli Scalzi and turn right towards the Fondamenta di San Simeon Piccolo, until you reach Ponte della Croce. Before the Ponte, turn left towards the Fondamenta dei Tolentini until you arrive in Campazzo dei Tolentini. From here, turn left and you will be in Corte degli Amai, where the Hotel ai Tolentini is located.
By car
From the super highways A4 and A27, follow the indications for Venice. You can leave the car in Venice in one of the garages of Piazzale Roma.
By plane
From the Venice Marco Polo Airport, using the ATVO service or by bus no. 5, you can reach Piazzale Roma in 25 minutes.
From the San Giuseppe Treviso Airport,you can reach Piazzale Roma in about 1 hour using the ATVO service.
From Piazzale Roma
Cross over the large white stone bridge in front of the gardens of Papadopoli of Piazzale Roma. Continue straight on, cross over the small Ponte dei Tolentini and turn left at Campo dei Tolentini; then take the Calle Amai, where you will find the Hotel Ai Tolentini.
